SUCCESS STORIES

SEVERE LIVER DISEASE
Spikey - will lead a normal life

Meet Spikey - a 36kg, 6 year old male German Shepherd. Spikey's family was concerned about his lack of appetite and increase panting was observed despite the lack of exertive physical activity and made an appointment to visit Dr Tham. Upon initial examination, Spikey was found to have severe liver disease. Spikey’s liver enzymes were 3 times higher than normal. With no history of toxicity and with Spikey not responding to the first line of treatment, his condition deteriorated rapidly with increased abdominal pain. Spikey’s family persisted with treatment and after about 2 weeks of aggressive treatment, Spikey’s liver enzymes improved. Spikey was discharged and over the following 4 weeks, Spikey’s improved rapidly and his recent liver enzymes are near normal. We are happy to report that Spikey has gained weight and is now back to his usual self and will lead a normal life.

VISITING HOURS
|
|

Our visiting hours are from 10:00am to 11:30am and 4:00pm to 6:30pm.
As we do not want to create further stress to both your pet and other hospitalised pets, please limit the number of visitors for your pet to three at any one time. We also understand that you would love to spend as much time as possible with your hospitalised pet, but at the same time, we would also ask that you would be sensitive to the environment around especially to the visitors of other hospitalised patients.
